| Peter Zipfell | This is probably the best footy management sim available for your mobile phone. As far as longevity goes it seems a little too easy, but the depth makes it a worth while purchase. |

| James | Great management sim, giving you a lot of control over your team. The production values are impressive, the menus are easy to navigate and the match engine and graphics are great fun. But one thing seriously lets it down - it is very easy. I won the league in my first season with reading. This is why I think it's too easy:
1) you can sell your worst players for £10m each, meaning two useless players can be sold and ronaldinho bought - as easy as that. Therefore money is far too easy to come by.
2) the coaching system, with a little common sense can have all your players as the best in the country by the end of the first season.
By the second season I was bored and so it have very little replay value. It's so unfortunate that it is so easy, otherwise the game would have been 9 out of 10. Sorry! |

| Paul Haworth | Wow, I may need to find a way to keep my phone charged wherever I am now.
This game has blown me away.
I have been a fan of footy management games on the pc for some time now, but have recently become a little jaded. They seem to add more and more detail, but add nothing more to the gameplay.
Lma has changed my mind about all that.
The biggest thing for me was how simple it is to get in to. The interface is incredibly intuitive, especially if you have even the tiniest amount of experience. All the menu items are simple to understand, and the sub menu items are marked clearly.
The nice graphics continue right on into match day as well. While hardly as neatly animated as, say, fifa 05 for the n-gage, it would be unfair to make that comparison for a number of reasons. Firstly, that was a football simulation, not management, game. Secondly it was also on a mmc card, not a java applet. That aside, it still makes for - dare I say it - edge of the seat match days because the game is clear enough for you to see which players are performing and watch all the goalmouth action!
If you don't want to watch the match, you have the option to skip to the result (only recommended if you are short of time), or the 'radio commentry', which is a text commentry of the procedings.
Sound is very basic, a couple of squeeks for the whistle, basics noises for the crowd, and a bit of atmos music during menu and management screens. But the basic sound isn't the reason this game gets 9 and not 10.
Apart from the fact that this game is not licensed by any football authority - so no 'real' names are used (think manchester blues for city and players like cula for cole, you get the idea). The only real let down I can find is not having easy access to your season fixture list. It may just be that I have missed something, maybe not, but it does mean that for all the interface is nice and easy, finding my fixtures so far hasn't been.
That one gripe aside, the game allows you to set the level of interaction you use and as a consequence sets the level of difficulty you play at.
Well worth getting. |
